THE CREATIVE PROCESS

We are a two-person team that does all processing and physical aspects of the creative process in-house!

We and our collaborative artists are proudly ANTI-AI, committed to utilizing no AI in any parts of our processes.

FOSSIL REPLICAS

For our replicas, we feature the LICENSED artistry of Hasan Ozturk (hasanoztrk) and João Burini (InsectHead). Collaborative artistic precision and scientifically informed representations are what bring these recreations back to life in their 3D sculpted form, which is the first step in their long creative journey.

Working from the 3D sculptures, each is individually created in high-quality resin, assembled, and post-processed all in-house. Additional sculpting and sanding are done to ensure smooth transitions and textures from part to part. This may take more effort dependent upon the final size of the replica, but all sizes are given the same meticulous care and eye for detail.

The next stage is a custom paint job done entirely by hand, creating something uniquely one-of-a-kind. While no two replicas will be alike, we do offer two general palettes: "aged bone" which mimics a weathered bone-white aesthetic, and "fossilized" which recreates the rich browns and dark colorations often seen in real-life fossil specimens. Once the painting is complete, it is then sealed with high-quality varnishes and sealants to ensure its beauty lasts for years to come.

In the case of a plaqued replica, we will then mount it on our hand-crafted, bespoke stands  made in-house. Each stand will feature a custom-etched plaque with the species name. Larger mounted replicas will also have the cranium and mandible separated, with the stand featuring specialized hardware for a hinged jaw. In these cases, the lower jaw will be adjustable to how far open or closed you'd like it displayed.

ABOUT OUR MEDIUM OF CHOICE

Resin is a photopolymer liquid that cures under exposure to UV light. This medium produces beautiful results with crisper details, more texture, and no layer lines.

Products made from resin will have more weight than other FDM 3D printed PLA products you see on the market. Resin also does not melt under high temperatures or direct sunlight, making it sturdier and more long-lasting.

That being said, our replicas are not toys and should still be handled with the utmost care. Breaks can happen if they are mishandled or dropped! We are not responsible for any breakage caused by this mishandling. We also suggest displaying your replica in an area not subject to direct sunlight, as prolonged UV exposure will fade the paint.

ARTICULATED TOYS

For toys, we feature the LICENSED artistry of creators Gabriel (3DGOB) and Dan (FlexiFactory). These toys are hand-designed by their respective makers. All models feature some degree of articulation to function as a fun fidget toy, and they come in a wide range of species and styles.

From the 3D models, each toy is then individually printed in biodegradable PLA on our in-house FDM 3D printers. Once printed, the toy is thoroughly inspected to ensure there are no defects - it is then assembled, packaged, and sent off to its new home!

Things of Note

PLA is a plastic that is made from biodegradable and renewable resources, such as corn starch. This material can soften with heat, so do not leave in places that get excessively hot, in direct sunlight, or expose it to heat sources.

While we strive for the highest quality, please remember our products are not factory-manufactured, but rather individually 3D printed and one-of-a-kind. As a result, there will be subtle variations between one piece and the next. Visible layer lines and slight imperfections are normal and part of the FDM 3D Printing process.

We work hard to match the colors shown in our listing photos, but minor variations may occur. This is especially true of gradient, color shift, or ombre filaments, where the shading, coloring, and color transition may be different than what is pictured due to the nature of the filament itself.

Articulated models can be fragile and should be handled with care. While they will hold up to normal handling, please note that we are not responsible for breakage caused by mishandling, such as dropping, rough play, throwing, being put into purses or handbags, etc.
